Dear doctor,

I have done thyroid surgery 2 yrs back.they detected cancer.so inorder to avoid risk they removed whole thyroid gland.i m taking thyronorm 125mcg now.i have done all the follow ups and everything is normal.i m 22 yrs now.i got married.but i m worried if i m preagnant ,the baby will get any side effects??

It is important to have proper thyroid hormone replacement and close monitoring before and during pregnancy but it is perfectly safe and there should be no adverse effects for the baby with proper dosing.  Typically we try to keep the TSH in the low end of normal before and during pregnancy but work with your endocrinologist and there should be no problem.
