why am I losing all my vitamins and minrls

I had TH CA in 2005 I had my TT. I was released from the hospital 3 days later and all was well, then I was hospitalized from severely low blood calcium for a week and was in ICU for the duration on my stay. I was told that my Parathyroid glans (glands) must have been stunned and would recover. Well fast forward 3 years and I am still having trouble with my calcium, magnesium, potassium and Vit D, I am currently on rocaltroil 0.50mcg and synthroid 150mcg and cytomel 5mcgs1 x 2 day, Micro K 20mgs 2x day. I have also been told I have anemia, but which one no one seems to know. I had a normal b-12 reading it was 511 and that was normal. I am so tired and exhausted all the time and constantly  have bone and muscle and nerve pain. I can not begin to describe how I feel  when I awake everyday. My endo has placed me back on Vit D 2 Erog and I have to take 50,00iuis 1 a week till i am stable. my recent vit d was 14 and she said that it should be no less than 40, I am confused as to why all my minerals and vitamins are being loss. I want to get better and I don't know where to start. I have seen to Gastro doctors who said that It was all in my head since they didn't find anything except I had a longer colon, and duodenitis but I am still having severe stomach pain and when I eat or drink anything, my stomach immediately cramps up and I get hot and dizzy and this crazy pain I can't explain. I have the same reaction when I try to drink water when I get up in the morning. I get the immediate reaction to throw it up and my stomach pains from just the water. I am not sure if that is related to my thyroid or not and I'm tired of being accused of making up my stomach pain. Should I be concerned that my thyroid surgery is the reason I'm having these problems? Thanks

This is all likely due to post-surgical hypoparathyroidism.  You will likely need the rocaltrol and extra calcium for life.  Some patients with hypopara also have trouble with Mg and K balance.  Could test the PTH level to be certain it's all hypopara.

Rarely would low Mg be the primary culprit -- it also causes low PTH.  This scenario is more common in alcoholics and patients with rare kidney problems.
