Can Thyroid Cancer cause Malabsorption?

I just been diagnosed as most likely having Pap. Thyroid cancer and my endo is geting my surgery scheduled. However, 6 months ago I started having major stomach issues. The gasto finally figured out that the gas and diahrea was from Malabsorption (my fat and other valuable minerals/vitamins) not being absorbed correctly. I also am no anemic and on iron because of this but my gastro has yet to figure out the cause of the malabsorption. Could my Thyroid Cancer be the cause?
