FNA Results

Just received FNA results... not sure what they mean. Can you explain? Results on report say: Occassional groups of follicular cells with mild nuclear overlap, delicate nucleoli, and occassional grooves on background of follicular cells, colloid, and hemosiderin laden micropages.

The nuclear overlap and grooves are commonly found in papillary tumors while macrophages are found in inflammatory nodules. If I will see pathology like this I would inquire about repeating biopsy to get more tissue containing follicular cells to make definite diagnostics
