What is treatment after total thyroid is removed and no RAI is done?

What tests are needed? What do I need to keep a eye on?

You will be checked every year for the next five years, at least if you had cancer. You may even have a thyrogen injection or two to test for recurrance. If they give you thyrogen injections, they will test your thyroglobulin, a thyroglobulin spike usually means recurrance. After 5 years, you are considered "cured" and will be monitored probably once a year for the rest of your life.
