I am on Synthroid name brand and it is aprox. $4.50 .. it is cheaper for me to pay outside of my insurance .. insurance would cost me $10.00 flat fee for it .. Walgreens has some kind of nat'l contract I *think* with the med?
cheryl, I am not on replacement thyroid hormones yet...but I sure wish all the other meds I am on were as cheap as the synthroid seems to be....even with co-pays my meds cost me on average $150 a month...I know if I had no insurance it would be astronomical...one of the migraine scripts is $540 if I had no insurance...ridiculous! what are the drug companies thinking?
I am on synthroid and its $50 per month with insurance.I have to take a 50 and a 137 mcg otherwise it would be $25 per month.I had a blood test today and im kind of hoping they will bump it to 200mcg so i only have to take 1 pill...ha ha ha

Levothyroxine 125 mcg and it is $10/mth w/ins. On my ins if the med is less than $10 you only pay the cost of it and not more, sometimes even a dollar or so less.

88mcg Synthroid, didn't have to buy yet, still using Dr.'s samples (in two months will have blood test and go from there) When I needed right after surgery, I paid $10.00 for 15 tablets (50mcg) with ins.
I'm on cytomel $25.00 and with other med's I have to take it cost around $75.00 a month total..My doc gave me samples for a 4 wk supply of Synthroid 175mcg for after my RAI.....
I am on name brand synthroid and it costs around $22 dollars and change for this dose (it was cheaper with lower doses). That is with insurance and I'm paying roughly 60-70%. It would be free if I used the generic but I prefer to stick to the brand name. I think I pay a % instead of a $20 or $30 copay because my doctor writes "brand necessary" on the script.
