Thyroid nodule - Substernal goiter

I’ve been diagnosed with a huge thyroid nodule = substernal goiter which is most probably non-cancerous at present.

I’ve consulted two endocrinologists this week – operation & removal of my thyroid gland was suggested from both (ASAP as my thyroid nodule (goiter) could transform in cancerous cells) but I would do everything to avoid it and not to be on pills for the rest of my life. Although, I’m completely clueless… and frightened.

Any suggestion or recommendation or alternative treatment known?

Mille fois merci!

Wishing you all the finest & abundance of health,
Aida

Thanks, but I've decided for a trial period, with no exams or specialist... ;-)

Yesterday, I've shared more & linked my blog but they removed it and not gave me the permission to link it again... If you're interested, you might search for my Google blog yourself: Aida's Breuss Cure Diary

That is understandable, however i believe that a biopsy should be the first step. My largest nodule was 3.7cm and i didn't have the surgery until 2yrs after diagnosis..3fna's later.

No biopsy so far as because of goiter's & nodule's size everybody recommends surgery.

If that nodule is not cancerous and takes up iodine the Radioactive Iodine ablation can be performed to shrink that nodule.

Did they perform a biopsy on the nodule before recommending removal?? Sometimes the recommendation is due to the size of the nodule as well,
