2 Weeks to go and getting antsy/nervous

Hi guys. Sorry I have been "mia"..... we had a power surge the other day and my faithful ol' pc crashed. Thankfully hubby happens to be a tech engineer so I'll be up before I know it but until then I am using HIS pc and he does not like to "share".....LOL

So, I am down to 2 weeks as of yesterday, I am getting more nervous but to be honest getting a little antsy too, can't wait to be done and through this. Is this weird? Anyone else anticipate the surgery this much? Sounds too weird for me, but I tell ya, I just want to be done and over with it already! I am planning like a crazy woman and I think it is driving everyone nuts LOL!

Hope all is well with you all, I'll peep in when I can.

HUGS

I like that analogy......three mai tai's in 10 seconds!!  It's true, though.  Actually, the last thing I remember saying after he injected whatever it was into my IV was "Can I take some of that home with me??".  Needless to say, I didn't find anything "extra" in my suitcase.

It's very normal to be nervous....I had abdominal surgery a year ago, and I was more nervous for this for some reason...my leg kept shaking while I was waiting to be called.  But once I was on the operating table..it was all over...the last thing the anesthesiologist said  was this is going to feel like you had three mai tai's in 10 seconds and the next thing I knew I was being wheeled into recovery...and that was it!!
You'll be fine...and Lori's right - they do take really good care of you!

I'm not kidding either!  I don't remember a thing after the warm blankets.  In fact, my surgeon wasn't in the room at the time, so I never remember seeing him at all!!  Don't remember a bit of the recovery room, although the anesthesiologist told me that he'd be there with me bringing me out of it.  Makes me a little nervous as to what I may have said at that time.  I'm sure they have a lot of funny stories!!  You'll be just fine, my friend.  They'll take really good care of you.
Keep us posted!

That will be me, I am sure of it. I already told the surgeon and warned him and he looked at me really funny.

It sounds like that will depend on whether or not they test it during the surgery itself.  Read redhed87's comment in the "surgery in 2 weeks, do partial only?" post.

I was really scared at surgery time too, because I've never had surgery either.  I was shaking so bad by the time they got me to the OR!!  Nerves combined with the fact that it was sub-zero in there!!  But they gave me some really nice drugs in my IV that calmed me instantly, and the nurse covered me from head to toe with warm blankets.  That's the last thing I remember until I woke up in my room 7 hours later.  You'll be fine!!

I felt the same as well.  A little nervous about it, but just wanted it OVER with.  By the sounds of it, it's pretty normal feelings that you're having.  Try keeping yourself busy and your mind off of it as much as possible.  The day will get here before you know it.

I really like Cheryl's Yankee Candle therapy.  I absolutely LOVE them, too!!  Light one of those babies, sit back with a good book and enjoy!!!

Take care, you'll be just fine.

I felt the exact same way as both of you ladies!!  I had to wait 9 weeks for surgery date and the last 2 weeks were the W O R S T .. then before you know it the day comes!  My surgery was 1/9 so I had that week after New Years to wait ..that was the longest week LOL .. so I went out and bought some Yankee Candle Sale items after Xmas and enjoyed a new hobby that to this date is going strong ROTFLOL!!!!!

So glad it is not just me! I know that this is not the ' cure all ' for everything, actually, just more of a new start for me, but I am so ready to be done with this step in the plan. I am ready to just get this done! I know my dh is still freaking out a bit, but he'll just have to deal with it, I am the one who *needs* this and I don't know how to convey that to him any more bluntly. Thankfully we'll have lots of help and I think that will make it easier on him. I agree with you too, so TIRED of waiting and so ready to be recovering and done. I am not too bad with stress but the last month or so has been living h#ll and I am ready ........ oh so ready! Good luck Wed and I'll try to get online more and see how you do, hope things go smoothly!
