2 months after TT and feeling bad!

I had my TT on Feb. 19 and I am taking 125 of Levothyrocine. 3 weeks ago my blood work showed normal TSH but low calcium. They did not tell me exactly what my levels were. I had very low calcium after the surgery so they put me on Calcitrol. Surgeon told me to stop taking it after a month. I still have some cramping and tingling, mainly in my legs and arms. But my main complaint is that I am feeling very tired and my head feels funny. I have a feeling of having shivers in my head. Any thoughts or suggestions.

I agree completely.  While it's a good idea to wean off so much calcium/vit d, sometimes more is needed.  I know for me it's been something like two steps forward, one step back.  I don't want to baby my parathyroids and not make them do their job but sometimes more calcium is just the only thing that's going to get me through when the tingling gets to be too much.

Really, blood work is the best way to tell where you're at.  I'd call the dr.  I need to do that myself.

BTW - My tingling is all over, including my heard.  Plus shivering too.

Hi, I won't bore you with my story, but rest assured, if you think you need more calcium then add another tablet! I had to take 4 then levels said I was great, so they told me to drop back to 2, well, guess what! I am having those tingling etc things like you, my levels showed low again, so I take 3 now...just to be on the safe side. Often the parathyroids get bumped and bruised and takes a very long time for them to settle. Keep going for your regular tests and know that we are all in this together! OH! and remember NOT to take your calcium with anything else, including coffee or tea or anything but water. Calcium tablets react with alot of other tablets, foods, and liquids. Cheers!

You may very well still have low calcium. Only a blood test will tell you. Chances are that is the case because of the tingling etc.  I still get bad muscle spasms, especially at night, almost 2 yrs. after surgery.Keep taking that calcium.
