ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH PARATHYROID QUESTION?

by Red2008, Sep 26, 2008 06:24AM
My endo ordered a PTH two weeks ago and I just got the results back, they were a little high and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these are anything to be concerned about.
PTH 104    normal is 10.0-65.0
calcium 8.6  normal 8.5-10.4
T3   118          normal 60-181
Vit D1   75      normal 15-60

I cannot figure out how my Vit D1 is a little high, but my Vit D 25 is on the lower end 46, she has me taking Vit D and calcium supplements.
Can anyone help? I spoke to someone that thinks she is looking for a parathyroid problem and I am not really that educated about them (heck I am just trying to get a grip on the whole hypo/hashi thing  : ) )

thanks Red

hi,
If your calcium levels are highor near 10 and your vitamin D is low under .32 you could have a parathyroid tumor. They prevent calcium from being obsorbed into the body and you get osteoporosis. Its a simple surgery. But it will save your life. Vit D controls your heart and kidneys and can stop your heart. Mine is at 10 and normal range is .32-100 my calcium is 9.5. I have a parathyroid tumor and I cant bring my blood pressure down because of it. So its another surgery. This can be dangerous if not treated. Good Luck
