Aches & Pain

by rohit_786, Sep 12, 2007 08:46PM
First i would start with some good news . After started 100mcg Levoxyl since 10 days i have less Neuropathy Hypothyroid symptoms . Very less tingling /numbness in feet , arms and  infact all over the place . So it must be thyroid related i am not sure my current symptoms , it was 3.0 TSH in 2 weeks back  when i was on 75mcg.

I still have aches in fingers when i type little longer better than before but still there , eye floaters and still feel tired after 3PM.
My question is , do i have to wait and make sure my level maintain 1.0 or where i feel better for atleast two or three blood test which is around 4 months or once my level get adjusted i would be feeling like before i diagnosed hashi/Hypo or would not feel same way. I used work 14 hours non stop still not tired but not like that any more.

Am so glad you are getting rid of the neuropathies.  They are so bad.

After you get your TSH regulated you will start to feel better and then after a little while you will be symptom free.  That does take a little while, so be patient with this.

They say it takes your body 1 year to heal.  But some people heal faster and some heal slower.  Give it time, but you are on your road to total recovery.  Hope it goes really fast for you.

Thanks for your reply . Main issues remaining are muscles pain /cramp  specially when i do some work like typing  or like doing some work from my hand it started to have lot of pain. Tired very soon which was not the case before i became Hypothyroid .

Is it due to the fact i am autoimmune ?. I heard if you have autoimmune condition you get tired soon even your TSH level is fine.

Ok wierd thing here, I read on here someone stopped there thyroid med for a couple of days and some pain went away so I thought hmmmm, I did that, I stopped for the past 2 days but took one today (75mcg Synthroid) and I did infact feel less neuropathy and pain, I have also cut back on some of my hydrocortisone to. Is it my imagination or what? I also felt a lil better to but kinda lazy as usual, maybe is overmedicated and my tsh t3 and t4 are all in normal range but i have really high antibodies.

Today and some times before i notice some weird symptoms.Hot flashes all over my body mostly in my hands and eyes are burning . The muscles pain /joint pain is really too much , the way i can put it if i turn my body or hold anything in my hands for like even five minutes , my fingers are kind of band with pain. Feel too much fatigue . Is this sounds thyroid symptoms or   some thing else going on in my body .
I am taking 100mcg Levoxyl brand and 30mg Cymbalta every night . I have been taking cymbalta for 6 months (Cymbalta is anxiety medicine).

Can hot flashes is cymbalta side effects ?
Has anyone tried T4/T3 combo i heard that solve muscles pain  and give some energy as well ?.

Please share your stories.

Well I heard we should be adding t3 but my Doctor doesnt want to try it yet and why I dont know, I am having my left lobe taken out the 24th so they can test it and decide if the rest needs to go as well. I donot have hot flashes and I couldnt take cymbalta it gave me some kind of reaction. I have been suffering from bad pain down my right leg with neuropathy and i really think it is coming from my lumbar are as i have facet joint disease and disc degeneration there, but the ortho surgeon acts like he cannot do anything so i am about to write him a letter and tell him what i think. He just wanted to bring up my thyroid issue.

Well i have been trying with my doctor to start T3 /T4 combo like 5 mcg Cytomel with 75mcg of Levoxyl but he is skeptical to start , according to him i don't need it unless my FT3 is very less  for me it 2.65 is in middle range..
Do you have  burning sensation in your feet or hands also which is also one of the neuropathy symptoms ? .
Is it common in thyroid patient to get tired soon as compare to non thyroid patient even your TSH level is in good range like b/w 1.0-2.0 range ?.I heard once you have auto-immune thyroditis  your body will not react or perform same way as before even your level is in range , is it true ?.Any one out there has any experience like that even thyroid level is in range for quiet some time ?.

Any one experience muscles weakness all over the body like neck muscles if you turn and hold your neck on one  position for even 5 minutes started to feel pain ?.
Any one experience of night time numbness and tingling in hands like  hands fall sleep more often pretty much every day ?.

Please share your neuropathy symptoms  in thyroid  and muscles weakness and joint pain in scale of 1 to 10 ?.

I use to have them burning sesations when I was really sick at the beginning of the year, my adrenals glands went down. Have they checked your cortisone levels? I get the numbess in my hands and tingling feet feel funny all the time and wierd feelings in legs like water drops or creepy crawler feelings as for my neck it hurts all the time especially in the back of it and tightness in the front, my shoulders and top of my back are stiff alot to. And yes it is common to get tired, i get tired very easy and they say my levels are in range but i have high antibodies.

Yes they did check my cortisone level and that was fine as per doctor. I do have insect crawling feeling in my feets also , however burning sensation in my left feet is too much in the night and it is only on my left feet, i am not sure that related to thyroid but it is there . Even i take Cymbalta which should help my sleep but still take too much time to get sleep in the night .

Any one has similar symptoms.
