Thank you! I'll off to BandN:) Bless you all!
Hi there.....Dr. Ken Blanchard wrote a book on his treatment of synthroid/or levo with addition of Armour. He treats with the 98% T4, 2% T3 rule, with great success with a lot of his patients. He is an endo that specializes in thyroid disorders. The name of his book is "What your doctor may not tell you about hypothyroidism. He covers all the aspects of thyroid problems. It is a fantastic book. He covers everything from meds to diet. He nicely explains the diff hypo disorders as well. He is an endo but treats with armour successfully...imagine that!
Thank you so much. I just found this site and am so happy I did. I have felt like all I do is complain about how achy I am. Some mornings I have trouble even walking. My doc keeps saying my levels are find now and she hasn't wanted to do anything. I did well for years and don't know why I let her talk me into trying the Levoxyl. She suggested that I add the Armour (although a pretty low dose) and see if it helps me feel better. I've not heard of anyone trying this before so was kind of worried. I guess I'll give it a shot, it can't be worse. Thank you so much for answering me. I appreciate your time.
I personally had not tried it - but went directly to Armour and stop taking Synthroid - (levo)
Synthroid left me feeling very bad and I could not function on a T4 med alone no matter how high the script went.
I went to a 1 grain tablet of Armour (60mg) from a .175mcg Synthroid and within 2 days I felt much better
Since the switch I am upped to 120mg Armour alone ( not T4 meds) and I have no hypo symptoms.
I do with my doctors permission take 1/4 increases through out the month also when I feel I need more Armour than usual.
