America what next time to clean up

An extract from a report I just received it is so shocking that it rivals last months that the water supply was full of some much medication that was being over prescribed and getting into your drinking water are at very dangerous levels now this. quote...I told you about a 2006 EWG analysis with this daunting conclusion: More than 40 million women in the U.S. may have greater health risks due to exposure to perchlorate. Specifically, the chemical may lower women's thyroid hormone levels, which can promote fatigue, weight gain, depression, hair loss, sensitivity to cold, excessive menstruation, and goiter development. According to a study conducted by FDA scientists, three quarters of about 300 commonly consumed foods and beverages were found to be contaminated with perchlorate. The study also found contamination in the tap water in at least 28 U.S. states. "rocket fuel".
No wonder millions of people young and old now have thyriod problems. With a new election looming maybe you should get a joint voice and ask them what they are doing about cleaning up your country of all this fallout.

I think with thyroid problems smoking would be the last thing on your do not do list. It would probably be the only thing keeping you sane.
My husband smoked 50 a day and tried all the patches, gum and staples etc over 5 years to give up but he would always return. Then last year his father was rush to hosptial and had half his lung removed due to lung cancer. He never felt sick a day in his life and worked right up to the day they carted him into hospital. They said that 5 hours of the operation was trying to separate his ribs from his lungs (they had melted into one another with the disease) so that his chest to expand. He had 6 months of in and out of hospital so my husband said that is not for me and gave up stone cold turkey and has never gone back. So I guess it will take something really dramatic to make you quit if you haven't decided that the pictures on the packets are shocking enought...best to all

You made me laugh with your comments but I guess if it wasn't so serious it would be downright funny.
Last night with my fuddled brain I left a fork in the oven when testing the baked potatoes and with a few minutes the whole kitchen was thick with smoke as the plastic handle melted and dripped to the bottom of the oven and caught fire I had to race in turn the oven off and sit outside coughing and splittering whilst I tried to clear my lungs of plastic (probably deadly toxic). So I guess I could have od in one fuddled moment...

You can also substitute "at" for "@", or "dot" for "." if you want to post a link or an address. It may not get deleted if you do that.

It's not just the United States. What is going on here is going on all over the world. Water quality is suffering everywhere. Developing countries are in worse shape and are the biggest offenders.

Another problem that is just as bothersome is the fact that food has less nutrients in it than it did 100 years ago. Processed foods probably have more nutrients now, because they are added in, but fresh vegetables are getting anemic in nutrients because the soil is getting less rich in nutrients from over-farming.

All the antibiotics and growth hormones in meat are getting to be a problem. My wife is alergic to the hormones they feed to beef. Everything is being pumped up chemically to increase production.

Flouride is a problem, but frankly I think all the hooplah about residual medications in our drinking water is hyperbole.

Just one more thing for media to grab onto and make a crisis out of nothing. Coffee is bad for you. Coffee is good for you. A study came out and oh my God! Tomorrow it will be the McDonald's fatty foods health crisis. Oh, wait, that was three months ago.

The plastic bottles my drinking water comes in are now evil and toxic, as well as half the food containers in my fridge. At some point you have to just live your life.

The government can't save us. The world economy would collapse.
They already are trying to eliminate smoking in many places here, even outdoors or in your own house or car. Now, as more and more people are quitting smoking, the government is whining about a decrease in revenues generated by tobacco sales.

It would be nice to go back to the pristine world of 500 years ago, with the open sewers in the streets and all, but do you want your doctor treating you with leaches, blood letting, and candles, or do you want your car, computer, and modern medical facilities?

There are trade-offs and consequences for every decision we make.

Glad to see some people are interested to know why??? Thank you for your comments. My comment had nothing to do with Politics but more to do with knowing who is going to protect you from all the things you are not told voluntarily. Big corporations and drug companies are having a field day because no one is taking care of you. The race is on for  big bucks globally and "bopal" is not only in India because it was a big bang it is in America doing a slow sizzle.  This means that any fall out will get lost in the hype and media "blue sky" machines that operate for the companies and the government. In the meantime little folkes are fall off their perches and nobody wants to do the hard yakka to find out why. You can get a copy by logging onto the Health Science Institue of America or onto the FDA website and search under perchlorate or send an email to ***@**** and ask for a copy. If you have any trouble let me know and I will post the full story... Also if you go back to one of my other postings you will see also that the water is virtually undrinkable with second hand medications. I guess until someone actually cares that they are being made to drink other peoples medications nothing will happen.
898 I know they don't use iodized salt nor do many other countries  but then again I think 99% of american consumerables are brought in from other countries. I can't remember the last time I actually read a label on a product and thought I am not going to eat this because I don't know what all those funny additives are??? bestest

Overuse of fluoride in the toothpaste, drinking water and the flame retardardants in the upholstery may also contribute to "displacement" type of iodine deficiency.
the commercial food preparation here in the US does not use iodized salt

I'd like to read that imformation too.  While I agree America does pollute and leave a path of destruction a bit too much I also agree with redheadaussie that things seems worse during voting season.

Hi Fellow Aussie, I wonder if you might share the link or information on the report you got? I for one don't listen to hear say, but go straight to the source. I know there have been a few emails doing the rounds to 'scare' people into voting for who ever and us Aussies tend to get them in our junk mail too.
