This is in answer to both of your post.
If you are planning to get pregnant you and your doctor will need to stay on top of your thyroid issue and you must be monitored frequently, before and during pregnancy. Pregnancy can change levels.
Depression, mood instability, mania, anxiety and Psychosis are the hypothyroidism
Thanks Graveslady...
Ok, so when you say that the supplements could be "messing up my thyroid tests," does that mean that the results that I just got in December might not be accurate since I was taking the supplements at that time?
How does Iodine affect the blood thyroid results??
Looking at the ingredients in the supplements, they contain kelp, alfalfa, and iodine (250 mcg p tablet/167% RDA - I usually take 6 of these)
Iodine will or might, up your thyroid hormones making too much (med./supplement induced hyperthyroid), therefore lowering your levels TSH, as with your TSH of .8, which means you are very close to getting two much. Or it just might be too much Armour but you won't know because supplement might be adding to the mixture. Hyperthyroidism whether natural or med. induced can be dangers if too much. If it were me I'd stop one or the other and after 6 weeks get retested.
There could be a possibility that Decembers results are not accurate. However if you take the supplements the rest of your thyroid life along with Armour and both are adjusted according to your levels, then test could be considered accurate. The main issue is consistency, and telling your regular doctor you are taking supplements. The supplements can not be adjusted to an accuracy as Armour, however Armour is touch enough.
