I forgot to ask in my previous post - what does the term "acquired hypothyroidism" mean?

Thanks, but I have not had my thyroid removed and there are no plans at this point to do so.  Could there be other instances in which that term is used or is it most likely that they made an error.

I believe it is a diagnosis used when one has had their thyroid removed and is thus hypothyroid which then requires treatment - at least, that's what is circled on my bill when I see my endo.  Before my TT, the diagnosis chose was always hyperthyroidism.
