A referral to an endo is probably a good idea.  You definitely have an autoimmune thyroid disease, and if your PCP doesn't feel comfortable handling your diagnosis and treatment, it would be best to see someone with more experience.  If you have to wait a while before you can get in to see an endo, it might be a good idea to ask your PCP to order retests on the TSH and FT4 and add in FT3 and TSI a week or so before the endo appointment so you can go with labs in hand...saves time in getting treatment.

A quick google found this:

Cryoglobulin: An abnormal blood protein that has the unusual properties of precipitating from the blood serum when it is chilled (hence the "cryo-") and redissolving when it is rewarmed. Cryoglobulins are gamma globulins with a molecular weight of approximately 200,000.

Cryoglobulins can cause problems by causing the blood to be abnormally "thick" which increases the risk of blood clots forming in the brain (stroke), eyes, and heart. Cryoglobulins are also associated with inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis) which increases the risk of blockage of arteries.

Cryoglobulins are a key part of a condition called essential mixed cryoglobulinemia. Cryoglobulins can also accompany diseases such as multiple myeloma, dermatomyositis, and lymphoma. Sometimes small amounts of cryoglobulin are discovered by accident in the lab in a serum sample from someone with no apparent symptoms.

I am not familiar with the test, but it sounds to me like the lower your level, the better according to the above definition.

Good luck with your endo referral.

CRYOGLOBULIN  -  NOT DETECTED

What is this test used for. I will call my primary today to get a referral to see an Endo.

Right now I am seeing my primary. She said that I may have to go to an Endocrinologist. My doc is at the Cleveland clinic.

I'm glad to hear you're working on the vitamin D...that's important.

Elevated TPOab indicates that you have an autoimmune thyroid disease, either Hashi's (hypo) or Graves' (hyper).  Results are often in the thousands, so don't panic about the extremely high number.  Raw numbers are unimportant...you're either positive or negative.  My TPOab was 900-something, and my TGab (the other antibody associated with autoimmune disease) was "greater-than 3000".

Your TSH is a little low, and since you are not on thyroid meds, that could indicate hyperthyroidism.  However, your FT4 is just a little below midrange, so still looks good.  FT3 is the other thyroid hormone that should be tested.  Your FT4 level should not be high enough to be suppressing TSH, so you need an explanation for why TSH is low.

TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) is another antibody test and is the definitive test for Graves'.

Since you are not on any thyroid meds (correct?), I think you should request FT3 and TSI.  Many symptoms "cross over" and can be symptoms of both hypo and hyper (they're symptoms of the thyroid being "not right").  Your positive TPOab indicates that this further testing is necessary to pin down a diagnosis.  Does your doctor have a plan?

I had 2 tests still pending results. 1 came back and I am seriously freaking out!!
Thyroid peroxidase autoabs  - 2159   ref range < 60

This is seriously out of range. What does this mean.
Cryoblobulin still pending for 7 days.

Lately I have had a nervous feeling in my stomach. I had hair loss 5 months ago. I have joint pain, dry eyes during the night, I wake a lot and can't go back to sleep. I have only lost about 9 pounds in 6 weeks due to weight watchers. I have a 9 onth old and went from 160 to 230 during pregnancy. I am now at 169. Sometimes my throat feels tired and heavy. During pregnancy i had prereclampsia. Last week my left ankle started leaking clear fluids for 3 days. This happened once before. My ankles have always swelled since at least age 8.
The left swells more than the right. Sometimes my vision is blurred and I have ringing in my ears.
These are all of the main symptoms I have been having.

Oh and I take a prescribed weekly vit D as of this week.

Your TSH is a little on the low side, which can indicate hyperthyroidism.  However, your FT4 still looks good...it's just a little below midrange.  Are you on thyroid meds?  If so, which and at what dose?

Your vitamin D is seriously low.  Has your doctor talked about supplementing?

Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid disease/dysfunction?

Do you have thyroid symptoms?
