Any good alternative treatments ?

by Ecologic, Jun 17, 2009 09:17PM
Hello,

What do you think of alternative/complementary natural treatments sold in health nature stores for thyroid and adrenal support? Any good one to recommend? And can they be taken in addition to regular thyroid treatments like Armour, or is too not a good idea?

No one? Sniff!!

I'd like to add some natural stuff sold in health nature stores to my regular Armour medication, but some one I know told me it's not a good idea to combine both. This person is not a thyroid expert so I'd like to see what people here recommend!

What were you planning to take?

I wouldn't do it myself.  I think the potential problems far outweigh any benefit over adequate dosage of regular thyroid meds.

I always believe in keeping it as simple as possible..including eliminating all non-essential drugs and supplements.  If your thyroid meds aren't adjusted properly, work on that.  If they are, don't rock the boat.

Barb: nothing in particular, except for Rhodolia, which is an herb that supposedly gives you extra energy, something I often need.

I was just curious, I had spoken in the past with a former colleague and she was alternating Armour and some natural stuff so I was wondering it would be an idea to follow her steps, but I guess not! I'll keep taking my Armour for now.
