Wow i could have written this! I am surprised to read so many people suffer from this symptom [hypothyroid/sweating] as it is the opposite of common symptoms. I just move or walk a bit and it's horrible. I am 60 and postmenopausal. I went out with family and at dinner I was sweating like a sumo wrestler. Running in my eyes. And it does not stop!! Very embarrassing, especially in public!! Sad.

Hi,

I have had hypothyroidism for 5 years and I have noticed in the last few months I am definitely sweating more in general. I never associated this with my condition so I was interested to read your question and everyone's answers. I really hope that this symptom I am experiencing does not get any worse! It's bearable at the moment, I would hate it to become noticable to other people!

I don't sweat when I'm pretty cold but I do fluctuate between cold and hot so I do sweat a lot.  I'm the one always saying "is it warm in here or is it just me".

I'm having hot flashes and sweating a bit while I'm sitting here at work.  It only started happening today, the same day I went for my first blood work since the RAI treatment heh.  Guess I'm 'sweating' the results. :)

Before, after, during meds, I sweat no matter what and I am Hypo.

The classic symptom that reads that hypo people have trouble sweating does not apply for me. I am the opposite. I sweat too much.

Sometimes I am very cold and my armpits are wet. It is disgusting but there is nothing that I can do about it. I have the sense that when I am feeling better on meds I actually sweat less, I mean like normal people.
