I know it may seem odd to be low in weight with hashimotos, but I am. I have been trying to gain weight and I am not having much success. Anyone else dealing with this?
I lost quite a bit of weight before and in the few months after I was diagnosed... mainly because I had no appetite whatsoever and so was consuming way fewer calories than I should have been. It took quite a while to get back up to a reasonable weight, but eventually I was able to – the main thing was being really conscious to make sure I was eating 1800 calories / day. One of the best ideas the nutritionist gave me was to drink juice or milkBreast milk Breast milk jaundice Lactose intolerance Nipple discharge - abnormal or some other calorie-filled drink rather than water or tea or coffee all the time.
I struggled with low weight my whole life and spent most of that in a "hypo" state. After my TT I lost even more. Now that I'm on meds and everything is in "normalNormal saline flush" ranges I have finally managed to get to a healthy point and stay there.
I can definitely sympathize :-)
Good luck!
