Anyone have Benign FNA, & Surgery say it's Malignant, please respond

Please post and tell me your story  I am scheduled for Surger and trying to determine the likely nedd of this happening

I think it is more likely something shows suspicious and turns out benign than the other way around but if you have doubts you can always send your slides out for a 2nd opinion and the Dr. Forum has listed several places that are top notch.  That is a thought.

My FNA was suspicious for Follicular cancer and both nodules came back totally benign BUT 48hrs later the final biopsy found 2 small areas of papillary carcinoma elsewhere in the removed gland.  They were fully encapsulated and no lymph node involvement.  I was shocked but now doing just fine with it.

Cheryl (partial thyroidectomy 1/07 .. Synthroid 88mcgs for supression of other side BUT turns out the other side isn't functioning so on it as if it were a TT)
