the B12 test range was 200-1100 - mine was 571, I will also address this,
I do take extra B12 under the tongue every morning 1000mcg w/400mcgs of Folic Acid.
there is alot to know and I appreciate you helping me out.
I answered all your questions in your other post about the magnesium, etc. I do not specifically take my vitamins/minerals with a snack or anything --- just make that you do NOT take them within 4 hours of taking any thyroid med.
As always, I have to ask what your B12 levels actually WERE and what was the reference range used........Just because you fall within the lab's reference range for "normal" doesn't mean it's "normal" for YOU. I was actually at the "low normal" level when I was initially tested and I'm very fortunate that my doctor didn't just tell me it was normal and let it go at that.
As I stated in my response to your other post - 9 days on thyroid med is NOT nearly long enough to be feeling up to par yet, as it takes at least 5-6 weeks for the med to reach it's full potency in your body..
I've not had my D levels checked but doing that later this week.
Hi - thanks all this is confusing - had my B12 levels checked and they came in
fine, Vit. D was low 22 - so I started taking 5,000 Iu's and last test came in at 45.
Continue to take over 3400 IU's and will have it re tested soon. I've heard 60 is a good
level to keep. Also I am changing MD's due to my frustration over the treament and
attitudes I have received. How much magnesium do you take at night and do you
take with a snack or on a empty stomach? All my TSH and free T4 values were
normal and taken again. I finally got free T3 taken and it came in at 200 230 being the
lowest in range. I have only been on levothyroxine for 9 days 50mcgs. L arm seems
to have the most discomfort and right hand tingles. Have had carpal tunnel done on both
hands 8 years ago. I was fine till I had a stessful divorce and a surgery in April and all
went down. I appreciate any suggestions and help you can give me. This seems to
get complicated and has caused major cutbacks in my energy level-very wretched
symptons. Some days better than others.

I take cytomel (T3 med) - it does nothing to help with muscle tension or tingling.......I take magnesium every night at bedtime to help with the muscle/joint pain. I also have a pounding heart but can't blame it on cytomel because I was having it for a while before I started on it.
The only thing I've ever found to relieve the tingling is vitamin B12 shots ---- I have pernicious anemia and numbness, tingling, burning are major symptoms, along with fatigue.
