Anyone with positive results using Syntroid after TT

I have a TT scheduled for Wendsday, only med my military insurance will cover is synthetics (Synthroid), I asked my Endo about natural, bad news is hospital does not supply natural hormone, and I have no insurance outside military health care.

Synthroid seems to be getting bad criticism by many users, is there anyone having positive results using Synthroid?  Also Cytomel?  or use both?  Thanx

Good luck with your surgery and hope you'll let us know how you do after it's over.

Hi Barb, thanks ! Hopefully, I'll be able to tolerate Synthroid.  In a few day's, my thyroid will be gone.  Good luck with new med, wishing you well :)

There are many on the forum who have used synthroid successfully.  Cytomel, also.  Some people need both.

I was on synthroid to begin with, but was later switched to generic levo because of the cost.  I actually did better on the generic than I did on synthroid, but part of that was the doctor I had who kept reducing my meds trying to normalize TSH.

I was also on cytomel for a while, along the levo.  I was later switched to generic T3 med, which I'm still on.

I'm currently on a relatively new T4 med called Tirosint, which is a gelcap and is virtually hypoallergenic, along with the generic T3.  Have my ups and downs, but for the most part doing okay.
