by Mama04, Jan 16, 2007 12:00AM
I have being feeling, hot flushes, insomnia,no period for 2 months (negative preganancy test),often bowel movements, tired, forget thibgs really eassy, headackes etc,my OBGYN oder TSH and Free T4 among others, the labs came back and said this
TSH 0.07 Low
Free T4 2.34 High
My OB said notto worry about it sayin Low and High because they looked normal, that it were they are suposed to be, true? I am very confused, should I go see an Endo. anyway?

In my opinion:  if you aren't feeling well or "normal" then, no, the labs are not right for you.  It wouldn't hurt to see an endocrinologist.  What will it cost you, another co payment?

You have many of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism:

An endocrinologist could run additional labs to determine why you are hyper (Graves, hot nodule(s), etc.).  It's worth the second opinion.

What is your Labs reference range.  They seem high but might be in your Labs reference range.  Your FT-4 might suggest hyperthyroidism especially with low TSH and I am comparing to my Labs reference range. Would like to see how your F/T-3 relates. If you go to an endo. who doesn't use the same Lab then your levels might be different due each Lab has its own method of testing. Therefore it is best for your test to go to the same Lab each time, unless  certain test in which  needs to go to a special Lab. And if you go to an endo. make sure s/he is a thyroid specialist who deals with many thyroid patient per year.
Whatever you decide, make sure you get retested in 3 months regardless, your levels might change to where a doctor WILL treat you. I'd recommend endo. to a OBGYN!

Good Luck!
