After being on 25 mcg of syntyroid   1 pill and a half pill since april 15 (on 1 pill,and since May on 1 1/2 pills my dr is having me switch to armour...the pharmacy obly had 1 grain pills.so he said cut it in half.Im to start in the morning.They said i didnt need to taper off the synthyrois ,rhat kinda worrys me..i was feeling ok on synthyroid.but since going on it it totally killed what littlem  sex drive i had...we have been working with my hormones for almost a year and mainly its the lack of sex drive and low energy weight gain is why she put me on the synthyroid.Im kinda scared to switch but have read goo things about armour..its going to be hard to split a 1 grain pill..has anyyone just switched from one to another with no tapering..Thanks

thaNKS i will insist on free t3,but as she is going by how im feeling instead of just levels,i wonder what else we should do

If your doctor is not testing for Free T3, he should not be prescribing a T3/T4 combo.

Sex drive generally drops because of hypo symptoms or other hormone imbalances, but any time you don't feel well, you won't feel like having sex.

here r lab results drom dec..tsh =1.280 rangge = 0.450-4.500  freet4-1.12 range=0.82-1.77    have u ever troed to split a 1 grain armour in half then in half again..kinda hard  anyways since being on armour last 4 days i have had bad anxiety dierehha and last two days sick to tummy....i wanted to try it because so many say it help the sex drive..synthyroid seem to take mine away...called pharmist said go back on synthyroid till i see dr on the 22 and she could addd a t3 agent to the synthyroid..have u or anyone had a sex drive drop on synthyroid> other that that i felt ok on it....any info would help

You are having the wrong labs done. You should be having a TSH, Free T4, Free T3. The T3 uptake is outdated and the T4 looks like it is a Total which is also outdated. Now that you are on a combo med with T3 it is critical that you have a free T3 done with the others.  Again, any doctor that knows how to prescribe a combo med or a T3 med will tell you that you are suppose to split your dosage twice a day because T3 medicine is short acting in your body and only lasts approximately 6 hours at its strongest.

the pharmisit gave me a highrer dose pill because he was out of the dose she orered it,he said split it and take 1/2 a day.it is already hard to split in half i dont think i could split it again...,my last labs after on synthyrois were  T3 uptake=37...T4-8.4...TSH= 1,22,my r goes by my symptoms more so than levels.and i asked for armour cause i read so many good results other have on it,my sex drive ied totally after being on synthyroi but other than that i felt good on it..Thanks

So were you on 25 mcg sythroid or 37.5 mcg?  
The approximate conversion for 25 mcg of synthroid to 1 grain of armour is: 1 grain of Armour = 9 mcg T3 and 38 mcg T4  OR  100mcg of T4 only.   So you don't need to taper off of your synthroid at all because you are on a lower dosage. But I would suggest you start out slow on the Armour because you are going to have a rush of T3 blasting through your system. Also you should be splitting your daily dosage in half. You take half in the am and the other half early afternoon...or approx 6 hours after your am dosage.  
Armour would not be my choice of "natural" thyroid meds since they altered it. There are other options out there like "naturethroid", etc.  
I should ask you to first post your lab results for us to see.  :)
