Armour

Has anyone on this drug experienced hair loss?  I've got hair loss and I'm on synthroid and trying to get rid of the problem and was thinking of switching.  I could not find hair loss as a side affect of Armour.

Hi and welcome to the community.  Have you had your TSH and labs done at all since the hair issue?  Could be from hypothyroidism .. not necessarily the med but I'm not a Dr.

I found this link for you from MedHelp's drug database listing side effects:

Hi I have been on Armour for 8 months and have not experienced any hair loss. I have heard that hair loss is a hypothyroid symptom but I have also heard people having hair loss as a side effect to synthroid. I would have your doctor check your levels and see where you are. If your levels are normal and you are still having hair loss I would ask your doctor what you might be able to do.

I was on Levoyxl for about 8 months and it made me ill by causing hypertension, insomnia, shaking, etc.  Now I'm on Armour and feel beeter but it causes chest tightness, a strange feeling in my eyes, and I swear sleep apnea.  Has anyone else experienced these, and if I'm allergic to Armour and can't take Levoyxl, what else is there?

I was just recently put on Synthroid. I have heard that it is the most commonly perscribed medication.  I think everyone will react differently in a few ways.  I have been searching on line for some of the right foods, vitamines and minerrals and PH balance. Evidently lemon juice helps your body absorbe iodine, or something like that. Like I said, I am new at this.  Hope this helps.
