I've been researching biochemical and molecular level research for autoimmune disease inspired but reading quotes from Albert Einstein today haha...

If they do find a cure for autoimmune disease esp. Hashimotos...
Does the thyroid gland regenerate? meaning if i have damage to my thyroid gland from autoimmune disease and they are able to cure the autoimmune disease will the damage to my thyroid gland heal over time?
