After years of being told that cancer wasn't suspected (several ultrasounds, an FNA, a CAT scan), the surgeon called me tonight with the results of my pathology tests after my TT last week. Follicular variant papillary cancer, with a 6 cm area found. I'm supposed to call my endo (who I've seen just once, several years ago, for that FNA) tomorrow to set up an appointment. My surgeon did tell me they suspected papillary cancer, though it didn't present normally. But I was trying hard to be in denial. I guess that's not going to work anymore.
