Blood Test Results

by poohnme2, Nov 21, 2008 06:35PM
I had my thryoid out a little over a year ago, stage 1 papillary cancer, a nodule on each side, TT, RAI,  I'm on Synthroid 175 and monitored every 6 months.  Had my 1 year body scan done.  Before the scan and the radioactive iodine, my T4 was 1 something.  After the scan it was 8 something.  TSH is .008.  Doctor wants to see me in January to see if the number cotinutes to rise.  I just had my one year regular doctor checkup and talked to her about my concerns, and she added the TSH and T4 test to other blood work I had done.  The T4 is 8.9 still.  So it's not going down.

Do you think this means that my cancer is coming back?

To: T4 Question
I'm going to try this again.  My first post didn't get answered.  I am just really curious what it means when your T4 starts slowly going up.  I had my 1 year body scan after a total TT with 2 nodules with cancer found, one on each side.  Did the blood tests before and after the scan.  Before my T4 was 1. something.  After the radioactive iodine and the scan, it was 8. something.   The endo called me after the blood results came back and told me we had to keep our eye on it and to see him in January.  This was like in September or so.  Just went for my 1 year physical with my primary.  She had me do normal routine bloodwork and checked my thyroid while she was at it.  The results were TSH at .008 and T4 at 8.9.

Do you think this means the cancer is coming back?  I just am really foggy about what these numbers mean and am having a hard time finding something on the internet to get more results.  It's hard to wait until January when I see my endo again.  Thanks in advance for any info.
