I get sore shoulder or leg when TSH is higher than it should be.
In regards to the machine you are talking about....it is also called a 'Tens' machine.
Great for muscles but no good if you have heart issues.
I used it once and felt like I was going to have a heart attack lol.
Just ask yr Doc about it first.
And get yr levels checked.
Aches usually mean HYPO.
I also get painful joints w/low thyroid. Tingling in my legs as well, sometimes leg cramps. cjs
Thanks Magpieannie,
Ill ask the doc re porcine, I checked it out on the net today and it sounded good.
I read that the natural thyroid treatment is in short suppply, is that true.
Thanks for your help

Hi ! My dauhter is 9 and born without a thyroid gland. Have you had your labs run latly? If so, you might want to check to see if your freet3 and freet4 are high enough in their range. My daughter gets very achy in muscles and joints, if either one of these gets to low in the reference range. We try to keep them both on the high side of normal as that is where she feels best and has very little pain in her joint and muscles. She use to be on a synthetic t4 med. however, she was always low on her t3. (conversion issue) Now she is on dessicated porcine (Naturethroid 3 grains) which has lots of t3 in it. She feels so much better. Almost no joint or muscle pain now! Doing just great! Thought I'd share our story, just incase your muscle and joint pain could be your major hypo. symptom as it is for my daughter. It almost seems that too little t3 causes my daughter her muscle pain. However, it seems it's the low t4 that causes her joint pain! Who knows for sure? We all deserve our thyroid PI license due to living without (or with, in other's cases) this gland! Hope this will be of some help to you. Good luck and let us know about the massager?
Have you thought about switching to a different brand of meds or switching to a different formula?
We have many options from natural to synthetic drugs.

Thanks Tanra,
Unfortunately I havent any thyroid, damm surgeon took them both out.
Im also on Vit D, I think that it is my thyroid tablets causing these pains but hey beggars cant be choosy eh.
I must admit that the shaking did cause me pains in the throat area.
Anyway thanks for your help, much appreciated and I hope that u are ok

I don't know if you have a goiter, but I do, as many people on this forum. I wouldn't want all that shaking because it might agitate my thyroid.
I have pain in my neck, chest and a little in my shoulder. I take Tylenol, Magnesium, Selenium, and Vitamin D. The D is because I get muscle cramping when it is low. The Selenium is supposed to help thyroid and referred thryoid pain.
