Boo Hoo ......

I had to have my nails cleaned up for the surgery and now I am left with thin, weak nails with clear polish.  The past few mos. I've treated myself to what is called gel-powder for a clean, manicured look that lasts 2 weeks, but of course I need only clear for surgery so they had to buff buff buff the stuff off and now they are ready for Tues.

I think it is a good thing to let the nails breathe.  I e-Bay items to pay for the manicures ... something as a pick-me-up :)

Man!  Can't they leave us with just a shred of dignity?  :-)

I had to do the same thing for a non-thyroid surgery way back when I could afford to have my nails done.  Something about the oxygen meter not being able to get a good reading.  Those were expensive nails too.

Ahhh, the price we pay to donate our thyroids.  :-)

Hang in there!  You'll be able to get your nails back on soon.

It's a funny thing, but they forgot to tell me this stuff before my surgery and I didn't take my nails off (even though I knew I should, but oh well, let them deal with it) and although they complained they still did the surgery, lol. I have thin gels and actually the oxygen meter worked fine.

Hi,

How are you hanging in there? I actually just called my surgeon to move up my surgery, I cant do the waiting game for 8 more week, I waiting to see if I am going on Jan 18 or feb 5. The wait is to much, hope you are doing good. I see you had your nails done! good for you I think I will have a manicure and pedicure before I go in, a little treat for yourself is always good no matter what! Keep in touch & take care.

I'm doing ok.  Been making calls for backup for my 4 kids and carpool arrangements, etc.  Today was finishing appt for my root canal and it looks like it went well but will hurt and I am not allowed anti-inflammatory b4 surgery so she scripted a few heavy-duty pain pills just in case.

I'm glad you are trying to move up your surgery date.  The least am't of stress for yourself the better.

I bought another candle today .... I know .. I've bought enough the past month, but I love the scent in the house .. it is peaceful and keeps me at ease :) :) :)
