Can someone PLEASE help me??

by Nese222, Mar 04, 2008 12:32PM
A brief history about myself.  I have hashimoto disease but my levels are normal.  USound done in 2000 compared to one done in this month shows an increase in size of Nodules and amount.  I know that hashimoto is a immune disease that eventually will shut my thyroid down.  When my recent test works came in the "covering doctor" said when asked what would be next is - I might be put on low dose meds.  When the original doctor returned he said- actually his nurse said no need too and to follow up with an usound next year.  I made another doctors appointment with a new doctor to get a third opinion.  I have symptoms and believe that I should be placed on meds.... also, wouldnt doctors want to put a hashimoto patient on some sort of medicine to help slow down the patient disease???????????????? Please give me some advice.  Am i going crazy??

How often are you getting thyroid blood tests, and what were the results of the last tests?

You should have bloodwork at least every three months if your levels are getting iffy.

You should ask for copies for yourself.

It's one thing for the doctor to say you are normal. It's another to see that your TSH is so high normal that it's ready to go above lab limits, but it's still "normal".

Putting you on meds will not lower the antibody count. There is no treatment for that. The numbers may go up or down, but there is not much the doctor can do about it.
