Can you help me interpret my ultrasound report?

Findings: The right thyroid lobe measures 4.3 X 1.4 X 1.9 cm, while the left measures 4.7 X 1.3 X 1.5 cm.  Thyroid isthmus measures 0.3 cm.  Overall throid echogenicity and echo texture are within normal limits.  Color Doppler shows an unremarkable flow patatern throughout the thyroid gland.

Multiple thyroid nodules are identified.  Three solid hypoechoic nodules are noted in the right thyroid lobe, the larges of which measures 0.5 X0.4 X 0.6 cm in the interpolar region.  In the left thyroid lobe, an enechoic nodule is seen in the upper pole measuring 0.5 X 0.3 X 0.4 cm.

Impression:
1.Three nonspecific nodules in the right thyroid lobe, the larges of which measures 0.6 X 0.5 X0.4.
2. Tiny cystic nodule in the left thyroid lobe measureing 0.5 X0.3 X0.4 cm.
3. Otherwise unremarkable thyroid ultrasound examination.

What does this mean?

5.5 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm. Homogeneous echotexture,  what does that mean?

You are commenting on an old post, if you want to post as a new question you might get a better response but I will answer here for you.

I'm assuming you are asking about a thyroid ultrasound - those look like the dimensions of one thyroid lobe (usually people have two lobes, unless one has been removed).  Homogenous echotexture just refers to the texture of the thyroid.  Homogeneous echotexture is normal for thyroids.

If you have an autoimmune disease such as Hashimoto's or Graves, sometimes the texture is described as heterogeneous or nodular, indicated the texture varies throughout the thyroid.

If no nodules are noted and just the dimensions give, this looks like a normal thyroid by ultrasound (or half a thyroid - usually dimensions of both lobes are given on an ultrasound report).  It is possible to have only one thyroid lobe if one has been removed.

I came across this. Can you help me .  I had a sono on 9/13/2010 and again on 1/24/2011 due to spasms and a large golf size knot coming up in front of my neck for abut 30 seconds each time this happens.  I also can feel and see an enlargement on the right side.  This is what the radiology reports says.  The current study compared witht he previous examination of 9/13 shows the right lobe to be 6.1x2.1x1.8 cm.  There is a 0.8 cm hypoechoic complex nodule in the lower pole.  the left lobe of the the gland measures 6.1x1.5x1.6 cm.  No deiscfete nodule or cyst in the left lobe is seen.  The isthums is 0.4 cm with a 0.7 cm isoechoic nodule seen

Impression:  Enlarged gland with significant enlargement seen since the last study of 9/13.  There is a single nodule in the right lobe and another nodle in the isthmus.

I am having probelms swolling and and always feels like I have something stuck in my throat.  Also i feel tired all of the the time and I just do not feel like my self.  I have no motivation at all anymore.  Thanks for your help.

These nodules are very small, so more investigation is not necessary or possible at this point, unless you are under 20 y.o.If the blood tests are normal and there is no family history of thyroid abnormalities or cancer, you may repeat the ultrasound 12 months from now preferably at the same place, to see if nodules are stable in size.
The only reason for this that  3 nodules are hypoechoic, so at this point it hard to say about their feautres; the cystic nodule is a blister filled with fluid [colloid or blood]

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment.  I know I should wait to see the doctor, but I picked up my own results.

What about the cystic one on the left?  Is there a difference between nonspecific and cystic?

No inflammation of thyroid tissue is present; the overall size of thyroid within normal limits about 11 cu cm; three solid nodules are reflecting less ultrasound waves then surrounding tissue, they can be monitored for growth [by follow up ultrasound in 6 to 12 months}.
