Can you take Synthroid with Birth Control Pills?

I am suppse to start synthroid next week. I am waiting until I see my ob/gyn to tell me that I am healing ok from surgery. Since they found endometriosis during surgery, I am assuming my dr will want me to go on birth control to help my periods and help the pain I am in from the endometriosis.

Question is can you safely take Synthroid with birth control pills or other forms of birth control. If I cant take them together I want to know before I go to the appt so I know to ask for other options.

If anyone is on birth control and taking thyroid meds please let me know you experiences.

I just asked my daughter's end of that yesterday she's 17 almost 18 you never take Synthroid with birth control together and you take them 12 hours apart and without food. Birth control contraception can screw up your entire Endocrinology system not just a ride but your pituitary ovaries lymph glands liver. I have found on the internet it's better to use like the insertable pill kind when you know you're going to be having sexual encounters insert an hour before and that way when you urinate it's out of your system.

Yes you can take them both. I use to take my birth control pills in the evening before bed, since I take my thyroid meds in the am.
