Can't get any help

by ginny75, Apr 26, 2009 01:29PM
I have had blood drawn and complete blooe work done since Dec 08, Jan 09, March 09...

All indicate the same thing, my TSH is 0.01
T3 Uptake is 39 and my T4 Free is 2.3
Tr (thyroxine) total 14.9
Free T4 Index (T7)  5.8 H\

I am gaining weight, lossing my hair horribly...very sensitive to cold. lots of itching all over and it is worse at night.and those all my only symptoms.  I don't feel fatige, my blood pressure runs118/64 normal, cholestral total is 125 very good, I am 52 years old and I also have low iron, due to I was a gastric bypass patient in June 04 and had surg. However, it is very typical for gastric bypass patients 4-5 years after surg. to experience low iron...mine is 8.6, but it has always been low.

I need help, been to 4 doctors, and they constantly want to do something else.  Just help me and get me some help with my thyroid, I am going to be bald and have no skin left, due to itching.

This discussion is related to What are normal T4,T3 and TSH levels.

You appear to be hyperthyroid.  Normal TSH is 0.3-3.0, so yours is low.  Your free T4 (you didn't post the normal range, so I'm guessing 0.6-2.0 - you should make sure your lab report uses the same range) is above the normal range.  All this suggests hyperthyroidism.

Are you on any thyroid meds?  Do you have  your free T3 and its normal range?  Have you had thyroid antibodies tested to check for Grave's disease?
