Chest pain/twinges with hashi's

by dani2776, Apr 15, 2009 02:48PM
Does anyone experience twinges of chest pain with their Hashi's?  It's not excrutiating pain and it comes and goes quickly but does happen alot throughtout the day.  Just had my levels checked and my synthroid will be increased to 50mcg.  TSH is fluctuating between 2.89 and 4.33 but antibodies are still over 1000.  I forgot to mention this to my endo yesterdat but was wondering if this was common.

I would get any chest pian checked out as soon as possible, I thought I had heart problems and after having an echo, ekg and stress test, it turned out to be Acid Reflux caused by the Blood Pressure meds I was taking. But it is better to be on the safe side. Acid reflux will be painfull on and off like you said, and in the area of your sternum upwards. Do you drink Coffee or a lot of Soda,Chocolate. Caffein can bring on reflux also. Good Luck FTB4

I'm with FTB4 on the chest pain, check it out, I can tell you of my experience. As far as I know I don't have Hashi's, still have to have further investigation. My pain was enough that I went to the emergency room, after an EKG that didn't show anything, and a flurry of questions, I was still admitted because the doc. wouldn't rule the heart out. Tests showed high TSH 10.84. Like you I was looking for answers and found many have experienced the pain. Almost made it a relief! I was having palpitations, and what I call little stingers, sort of like somebody pinching the back of your arm, except in the chest. It varies in frequency, but has tapered off. Scary!!
