Core Biopsy

Is there a core biopsy my doctor is a foreigner and I had trouble understanding him and after two times of him explaining I didn't ask again.  He is not the one that will do it I have to go to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  I guess I will know when I get there.

If you have a FNA is it true you can go back to work that same day, but you are saying with a core needle you have stay home for two days?  I'm not sure what I'm having I thought he said core needle, but I definitely will find out next Thursday. Will be so glad when this is over I feel like my life has been on hold since December.....maybe I'm making too much of this, but I sure am scared. I don't think I'm so worried about cancer, but that I may have to go on a medication for the rest of my life and I hate taking pills. I need to get a better attitude and be grateful for what I have! :)

I had an FNA and core biopsy done. They actually take tissue sample with a core biopsy, whereas the FNA they take out fluid.
I had a good experience with it and felt no pain. The radiologist was wonderful and made sure I was good and numb before doing it.
Just make sure you rest for 48 hours after....no running around....stay down and watch tv and keep your icepacks on and off.
