Could I have Hypothyroidism?

by GalileoFigaro, Jun 06, 2008 09:13AM
Hi.. Im wondering whether i could have hypothyroidism. Recently:

-the outer edge of my left eyebrow has thinned
-i have tension in my arms and legs. my right arm is particularly stiff
-my nails are brittle (i have little vertical stripes on them)
-i have trouble losing weight
-i have sleep apnoea
-my face has become puffy in appearance

I went to a GP, who first referred me to a neurologist. the neuro diagnosed me with parkinson's disease. (I dont have any tremors) and prescribed me sinemet CR. I then searched the net and found that Hypothyroidism has similar features to parkinsons (minus the tremors -- which i dont have). i went back to the GP, who found nothing in a blood test except very low magnesium. I'm now going to an endocrinologist.

Any opinions would be welcome
