Vitamin D was deficient on 2/19/2009 - 16.4 (observed range 9.0 - 80)
Taking 50,000 units D2 once a week since then - and continued my normalNormal saline flush 400 units D2 with Calcium per day that I have done for years.
Most recent test on 6/17/2009 - had increased to 30.1.
Cholesterol levels have skyrocketed. As of 6/17/2009 is now high at 284 with triglyceride still normal at 125 (<250). HDL is 87 and LDL is high risk at 172.
Now have generally high blood pressure, but it fluctuates all over the place - in one hour mostly sitting at the computer - taking it about every 2 minutes - had ranges from 154/110 to 110/69 - bracketed by 120/88 and 139/92 - with lots of bouncing around average about 128/88.
Am EXTREMELY leery to take meds for blood pressure (and anything else) since the last one they gave me was was a drug that I have documented as being fatally allergic to. After 5 visits for the side effects - finally handed them the list of known allergic reactions - which I had at least 27 of. All ceased with stopping of meds.
Also have my TSH levels with extreme swings in a month - not sure if it is the allergic reaction to the drug I started that day or something else. 6/17/09 went from TSH of 11.357 (hypo) (range .350 to 5.5) (only thyroid test done that day) to 7/16/09 TSH of .083 with FT4 2.6 (range .89 - 1.76). Was also under incredible stress at the time. Last Free T3 test was done 2/19/2009 and was Low at 226 (230-420) (Free T4 (1.0 range .89-1.76) and TSH (2.896 range .350-5.50) were normal that day). Same level of meds, same batch, taken in the same way through all of these tests. Feel slightly hypo - enough to ask for an increased dose.
Will be having prior blood work redone at the beginning of September.
This week I am trying to get bone density scan and to have them retest PTH and Vitamin D and to add tests for ionized CA, phosphorus and magnesium.
Any other tests I should have them add?????
Any suggestions/ideas? Cannot afford to go out of system at this time - but they will do testing if requested and refer me to Endocrinology. Perhaps in a month or two I may be able to go out of system for a second opinion.
