OK, so last night I woke up and my heart was racing like crazy. It only lasted a minute or so, but it was most unpleasant. But, no problems today and I don't really have additional hyperthyroid symptoms (yet). It's only 2.5 weeks since the surgery, though, and I may still have some residual bound T4T4 test to get rid of, not to mention any leftover thyroid tissue. I will go off of Cytomel probably in November to prepare for RAI. But, I am starting to suspect that my Cytomel dose might be too high and I'm just starting to see the effects.
So, my question is, how concerned should I be at this point? I honestly don't have time to go to the Dr next week, maybe the week after though. I have a scheduled Dr appt (surgeon) on Oct 16. Is it OK to wait until then to deal with this? I don't have an appt with the endo until Oct 31, but he did say to call if I have any problems so I guess he could adjust dosage. I'm just wondering how long I can wait without causing myself serious damage. I honestly feel pretty good otherwise.
On a high note, we got a pug puppy yesterday. She is 14 weeks old and is the cutest thing ever. She is extremely active, tends to overheat, and has bulging eyes. I think she may be hyper too! LOL. Maybe I should stay hyper just to keep up with her.
Thanks in advance for any advice (on the thyroid thing, although housebreaking tips are appreciated also.)
you might me over dosed on cytomel a tad. unless symptom becomes worse, in which then I am sure you wouldn't hesitate going to er, you probably can keep original doctors appointment.
Thanks for the info. I have read that mostly being slightly hyper is just an uncomfortable and, unless you have underlying heart problems, it is not usually life-threatening (at least not in the short term). The racing heart still hasn't happened again, but if it gets noticibly worse or if I start developing other symptoms I will definitely give the doc a call.
good luck
