Barb thanks soooo much for your comments - I tried splitting the dosage today and found it to be much better.
I do find soon after taking the Cytomel that I seem to dip into feeling very tired but soon it lifts.
I live in Hong Kong and it is verrrrrry different here, in South Africa meds were issues by a pharmacy but here not at all. - Drs issue the medication themselves and therefore never receive any pharmacy information slip. it is from this site that I have learnt not to take any thyroid medication with calcium or magnesium and that it is better to have my Calmag tabs around bed time.
I will be going to the USA for month and upon my return to Hong Kong my tests will be repeated again. Armour thyroid just did not work for me at all. My symptoms became far worse as at first I was on tooo high dosage and then found that I have a liver reading indication that my Alkaline Phosphatase level is too high. I have never smoked or used alcohol but did have my gallbladder removed many years ago. The Dr said the liver condition could be caused by the Hypothyroid Myxoedema. Oddly though I am very slim - 160cm in length and my weight now is 47.5 kilograms after I lost weight on the high dosage to 43.2 kilograms. Also experienced muscle breakdown and hope that all of this will come right soon.
Blessings and thanks again.

I was on 50 mcg levothyroxin and10 mcg cytomel and I took the cytomel in 2 doses - the first with my levothyroxin first thing in the morning, the second about 10:00. I should tell you that MY "first thing in the morning" is at 3:00 am......... So the second dose of cytomel was approx 7 hrs after the first and that seemed to get me through the day okay.
I am currently on only 5 mcg of cytomel and 75 mcg levothyroxin and I take the levothyroxin when I get up in the morning and the cytomel about 4 hrs later. That's doing good for now......
Cytomel can be taken either with, or without food, but NOT within 4 hours of calcium, magnesium, supplements, etc....... The information sheet that comes with the script from the pharmacy should tell you..
Thank you very much
Will try that out.

You can take your Thyroxin first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
However, most people taking Cytomel split it into at least two doses to avoid the peaks and valleys of the fast-acting T3. You could try half your dose with your Thyroxin in the morning and the other half when you feel you need another little boost. You may have to experiment with when this is best for you personally...early afternoon?...late afternoon?
