Hair loss is often associated with being hypothyroid. Finding out whether or not you have autoimmune thyroid disease is as simple as running a few extra blood tests. Is there some reason your doctor hasn't ordered them? There's no way they can know for sure whether you have nodules unless you have an ultra sound. I have nodules that my doctors couldn't feel just by palpating my thyroid.
I'm not very familiar with Block and Replace; maybe some of the other members will know about that.
Usually, hair loss stops once thyroid levels stabilize.
Hi, I too am experiencing hair loss and thinning since starting neomercazole 8 months ago. I'm from the UK, female and am hyperthyroid, my consultant says I most likely have autoimmune thyroid disease. It's so frustrating not knowing for definate. I dont have a goitre or the associated eye problems. I haven't had a scan but they say I dont have any nodules.I have started Block and Replace therapy 2 months ago, which incorporates levothyroxine. You normally continue this treatment for 12/18 months.
I was hoping that someone with the problem of hair thinning would recommend a product that's safe and easy to use. Any help much appreciated.
Do you feel that your dry head and hair loss are related to thyroid issues? Are you on thyroid medication? If so, which medication/dosage? Can you post your most recent thyroid labs, along with the reference ranges from your lab report, so members can comment more fully?
