The reference range for TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh, as currently recommended by the AACE, is .3-3.0. As you go forward, insist that the doctor also test for free T3 and free T4T4 test, along with TSH. Free T3 correlates bests with hypothyroid symptoms, with free T4 a distant second, and TSH correlates very poorly. Many times patients that have their meds adjusted strictly by what the doctor considers a good TSH level, will end up under treated and still suffering with hypo symptoms. A better approach is to get the doctor to test and adjust free T3 and free T4 levels as required to achieve a Euthyroid state, which means neither hypo nor hyper thyroid.
Good luck!
