Hello! I am currently diagnosed with hyperthyroid secondary to thyrotoxicosis from doing chemotherapy. I'm only able to take small dose beta blockers right now with the thyroid levels still remaining very high (TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh .01, T3 581, T4T4 test 24.3, T3 uptake 41.6)..Can I still develop a thyroid storm even with the beta blocker (InderalInderal Inderal la) keeping my heart rate down? (I was getting palpitationHeart palpitations episodes of 160 beats/min)...Thanks...
It cannot be ruled out as an impossibility, so the answer is yes.
