I have papillary carcinoma, my blood work was fine. Thyroid functioned normally, the only thing that was an indication in my blood work that I could have cancer was my TPOab, thyroperoxidase anti-bodies, and that was positive. You can have normal thyroid function and cancer...
Perfect bloodwork and papillary micros were found. You can have both cancer and autoimmune I would think which would give you TSH ups and downs. I would also think that a cancer *could* cause shifts in TSH but I think usually that's not the case, but I'm not a doctor ...

I think even min was normal cause i had papillary thyroid cancer. my cancer was detected by fna too. I didnt have any symptoms until i had my thyroid removed
I might be off, but at least in my case, my blood tests came back normal and I had follicular thyroid cancer. I'm not sure about the other types. I know that thyroglobulin is a blood test done to detect thyroid cancer, but endocrinologists often rely on a fine needle aspiration in
order to biopsy thyroid tissue. That is how mine was detected, then confirmed in surgery. I'm sure there is someone who can add a lot
more to this. What symptoms are you having? Do you have a
history of thyroid disorders, or is there a family history?
