Dizziness

I have had dizziness for 12 years now and nothing has come back to indicate any medical condition.  In the past 5 years I have noticed my hair thinning and shedding like crazy.  I have eye floaters and twitches that can go from one part of my bother to another.  I am so freaked out and should probably have more blood work done.  The dizziness is belittling in that even going to the store makes me sick.  However, when I'm working out I don't notice it.  Any ideas on what could be going on?

Although dizziness can be related to a number of possibilities, hypothyroidism is one of them.  Also, loss of hair can be associated with hypothyroidism.  Have you ever tests done for the possibility of thyroid issues?  If so, please post results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.

Another possible cause of some of your symptoms would be low iron.  Have a look at this list of symptoms from iron deficiency.

So as a start to further investigate your symptoms, if not done previously, it seems to be a good idea to see your doctor and request testing for the biologically active thyroid hormones, which are Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and T4), along with TSH.  Also suggest that you test for ferritin, and a full iron test panel.

If you will get those done and post results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report, members will be better able to help interpret and advise further.

Agree with Gimel.  If your thyroid tests show that you are okay, you could also go see an ENT and ask to have a vestibular evaluation to see if something else could be causing the dizziness such as BPPV (or BPV), or nystagmus, or some other type of balance disorder as well as Low or high B12 or other vitamin defiencies.
