Does Synthroid Interfere with Ovulation/Clomid and Conception

Hi,
This is the first time i'm writing to the forum and i really need you help.
I have tried getting pregnant for 13 whole months now without any luck. In November 2009 my doctor put me on Provera and then Clomid as i was irregular with my periods the whole year we've been trying. And again in the month of December 2009 i took provera gagin for 10 days and on Jan 2nd days 4-8 i have taken Clomid again. On Jan 20th i had my blood work done and found out that i was ovulating and my progestrone levels were good, whereas i was hypothyroid by 0.24 and my doctor put me on synthroid 50mcg for two months. Surprisingly where i ovulated on 20th, on Jan 29th today i got my period. I was scared. My question here is, is synthroid interfering with my ovulation and gave me a peiod like on provera? Is it good to take clomid on day 3 of my period now while on synthroid. I'm trying for more than an year now and nothing seems to be positive for me. Please Help me.

Synthriod cancells out the clomid so the dose HAS to be raised or you will go into thyriod failure and your T4 willl not convert to T# any longer (may the other way around on that) Anyway your thyriod is not being in check if you are not ovulating on the dose of Synthriod before you got out on clomid! After being on Synthriod for many years you will need to be treated with both T4 and T3 as the meds themselfes will stop your natural thyriod function as your thyriod is not working for itself anymore. I have a frined in thsi position right now and her reproductive endo did not talk with her endo about the two drugs so she was never upped on her meds and one never knew about the other meds she was on. She is now in full thyriod failure after three rounds of clomid and her thyriod antiboties where 987! Her thyriod levels were 5.9.

What level was .24? If that is your thyriod level that is hyperthriod not hypo. I am hyper and mine was 32 when I got pregnant and they debated on weither to put me on meds for hyper.

If you are hypothryoid, then it is very important to treat it (synthyroid is an appropriate treatment, though the dose may need to be adjusted) before you get pregnant.  The synthyroid should actually help normalise your cycle.

Please post more details about your tests.

What exact test level was 0.24?
Synthriod is a T4 medicine replacement for the T4 thyroid hormone.
