Does anyone have any insight??

I had my thyroid removed in August 07. In January my TSH levels were finally in the normal range. (1.2) I am now having symptoms of hypothyroidism again, at least that is what I think it is....my husband says I have gone back about 6 months. (Cold, Tired, Depressed, weight gain)  Is it possibe my levels have changed? Does this ever get better?

By any chance did you switch from brand name synthroid to a generic?  Sometimes the levels of thyroid hormones in generic just aren't as consistent as they should be.  However, it just might be your body adjusting to all the changes - I had a TT in May '06 and had perfectly good levels until my 3 month followup, when I went hypo and needed a dosage increase.

I'd call you doctor and tell them your symptoms and ask to have your thyroid levels tested.  A small dosage increase can make a big difference in how you feel.

Good Luck!

Did you have RAI?  My cancer was small and had not spread, but I still had to do it and keep my TSH low to prevent cancer re-growth.  Have your levels checked again for peace of mind, at least.

I had it removed because they could not determine if it was cancer. Turns out it there was a small microscopic cancer there, but nothing to be concerned with they say. I didn't realize I felt any different until here resently...but after thinking about it, the change has been getting worse for a few weeks now. It took my best friend and my husband to point this out to me.

Why was your thyroid removed?  If it was for cancer, you're TSH level should be lower for cancer suppression.  I would definately have your levels checked again if you think that there are significant changes in how you feel from January til now (you don't say if it's just recently that you feel different).  I have read peoples posts recommending having your adrenals checked on the forum, but I have no experience with this myself.  Good luck.
