Dry skin/lack pf perspiration - take 2

by mp_119, Sep 14, 2008 08:08PM
I have just read a post similar to my problems, so I'm posting a take 2 on the same matter...

I'm a 25 y-o female.  I've been diagnosed with high blood pressure when I was around 12 and have been taking Coversyl (4mg a day) for approx. 5 years.  My blood pressure is well controled under this medication.

I've always been experiencing fainting upon standing or exercising in very warm temperatures, ever since I was a child.  I tend to swell in the face, hands and feet when hot.... and weirdly, I almost do not perspire.  I do not buy deodorant or antiperspirant, because I don't need it!  Of course, I have extremely(!) dry skin.  I also have moderate to severe eczema, especially in the winter.

After having consulted many dermatologists over the years with no significant results, I recently decided to consult an endocrinologist.  Here are some results from my blood tests:

Cortisol (AM)  = 314          nomal 190 - 800 nmol/L
TSH = 2.24       normal 0.35 - 4.50 mUI/L
T4 = 14.5         normal 9.5 - 23.9 pmol/L

The endocrinologist can't seem to find what's wrong.... The dry skin and heat intolerance are very debelitating.  Any idea what might be causing this?
