Effects of birth control pills???

I am 26 years old and have recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have tried several birth control pills since the birth of my son which was nearly 2 years ago. Every time I go on the pills I have problems and end up stopping. Between I have very irregular cycles. Could the problems I am having while on the pills be from the hypothyroidism?

Sorry cant help you with any answers but I just wanted to say I am from Mississippi too..=)
I had a TT (totaly thyroidectomy) on August 29 so all this is new to me, I had a multinodular goiter.

Where are you from, what part of Mississippi ?

I am very new to it, and trying to figure it all out. I am from South MS, on the coast. I will be getting some more blood work done this week and considering treatment. It could possibly be postpartum thyroiditis that is in the hypothyroid stage now so I still have some tests to do. What part of MS are you from? Thanks for the note. Hope you get well soon. Liz
