Enlarged Goiter

I was diagnosed with an enlarged Goiter around 2 years ago. I am 47 and 9 years ago my doctor took out my left ovary and uterus. To completed my luck, I have been fighting with gain weight for more than 14 years. I used to be 135 lbs and now I am 180lbs! My thyroid doctor (2nd opinion doctor) says I don't need medications because all my hormones test are "normal". I do exercises and NOTHING happens...I walk for 1 hour, zumba, yard work,on top of that I am doing juicing, I do not eat late, and NOTHING! I do get swollen a lot and I drink a lot of water and do not drink pop at all...I don't know what else to do... I just want to be healthy and loose this horrific weight! Can someone help me?

Of course there are many reasons for weight gain, including diet and exercise; however, if your metabolism is low due to low thyroid hormone levels it becomes  easier to gain weight and extremely difficult to lose weight and keep it off.

We can help assess your status if you will post your thyroid test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  Also, please tell us about any other symptoms you have.
